Cooling tower custom manufacturers tell you how to arrange cooling towers
Author:

A Guangdong custom cooling tower manufacturer tells you how to arrange cooling towers for better efficiency.
1. The cyclone should be stable, with minimal impact from the reflux of cold and wet gas. It should be placed on the windward side of the building's minimum frequency wind direction.
2. Cooling towers should not be placed on heat sources. Exhaust gas and dust around the sewage outlet are unsuitable for placement in narrow, elongated areas between tall buildings.
3. Cooling towers should be arranged separately. When multiple arrangements are needed, Mr. Du, HVAC design expert, suggests that the distance between counter-flow towers should meet the following regulations:
①. For adjacent tower rows with major axes along the same straight line, the spacing should not be less than 4m.
②. For tower rows arranged in parallel but not along the same straight line, the spacing should not be less than 4 times the intake of the tower, and the ratio of row length to total width should not exceed 5:1.
4. The air intake side of a single-side intake tower should face the prevailing summer wind direction, while the air intake sides of double-sided intake towers should be parallel to the prevailing summer wind direction.
5. The distance between the air intake side of the cooling tower and the building should exceed twice the tower's air intake; in addition to ventilation requirements and pipeline construction locations, maintenance passages should also be provided around the cooling tower, with a passage spacing of not less than 1.0m.
6. The distance between the cooling tower and adjacent buildings facing the cooling tower windows should not be less than 3.0m. This not only satisfies the cooling tower's ventilation requirements but also considers the impact of noise and water leakage on the building.

7. For intermittent open cooling systems, the effective water collection capacity of the cooling tower base or sump should exceed the sum of the water consumption of wet cooling tower fillers and other components and the water capacity of the pipeline flowing in by gravity when the pump is stopped.
8. The cooling water sump should be placed as close to the cooling tower as possible.
9. Cooling towers should be placed under special circumstances; they should not be directly placed on the floor or roof.
10. When the cooling tower installation environment has high noise control requirements, the following measures can be taken:
①. Avoid placing the cooling tower in noise-sensitive areas.
②. Select low-noise or ultra-low-noise cooling towers.
③. Install vibration damping and noise reduction equipment at the inlet, outlet, and make-up water pipe.
④. Install a wind deflector on the cooling tower to direct the exhaust air away from the building.
⑤. Install sound insulation and sound absorption barriers on the building.
⑥. Install vibration isolation devices for the cooling tower base.
