Cooling towers are a common type of cooling and heat dissipation equipment in water system central air conditioning systems. Common brands of cooling towers used in central air conditioning include: Marley, SPX, Ebara, Yemigo, BAC, Liangji, Jinyi, etc!

Cooling towers are mainly divided into open and closed cooling towers. The main difference between open and closed cooling towers is that the circulating water in open cooling towers cannot withstand pressure, while the circulating water in closed cooling towers can withstand pressure.

Installation of the Cooling Tower

1. Select a suitable installation site.

(1) The shortest distance between the cooling tower air intake and adjacent buildings should be no less than 1.5 times the height of the tower.

(2) It should not be installed in places with heat sources such as substations and boilers, and the tower body should be kept away from open flames.

2. Setting the distance between multiple cooling towers

(1) Distance between the building or side obstacles

(2) Counterflow tower: The distance should be greater than the height of the tower.

(3) Crossflow tower: The distance should be greater than half the height of the tower.

(4) The distance between towers when two or more towers are installed.

(5) The distance between circular counterflow towers should be greater than the radius of the tower.

(6) The distance between square counterflow towers should be greater than half the length of the tower.

(7) The distance between straight-flow or double-sided air intake square counterflow towers should be greater than the height of the tower.

3. Cooling tower foundation

(1) The foundation base should be designed to withstand the maximum load distribution.

(2) Construct the foundation base according to the foot base distribution diagram. The foundation base is divided into single and combined bases. The minimum height of the air conditioner tower foundation is 30cm, and the platform must be on the same horizontal plane.

(3) According to the specified size, the horizontal steel plate should be pre-embedded in the cooling tower foundation. All foundation surfaces should be on the same horizontal plane, with a height error of ±1mm and a corner center error of ±2mm.

(4) The tower body should be kept horizontal, and an integral foundation can be installed if conditions permit.

(5) Shock absorbers should be installed between the cooling tower foot base and the foundation base to reduce the vibration of the cooling tower.

4. Basic piping of the cooling tower

(1) The pipe diameter should not be less than the diameter of the cooling tower inlet and outlet pipes.

(2) It is best to install control valves at the inlet and outlet of the cold water tower pump and heat exchanger.

(3) A filter should be installed at the inlet from the pump.

(4) For pipes with a diameter greater than 100mm, anti-vibration joints or anti-vibration hoses should be installed on the inlet and outlet pipes of the cooling tower and pump.
